No. there is no sugar in diet coke. so you are less likely to gain weight from it.

Depends on what effect you're looking for. It has no sugar, so you no sugar for energy. It has the same amount of caffeine though, so you're still going to get hyped up.

While there is no sugar in diet coke there is still a high level of caffeine. The caffeine will continue to have a strong effect on an athlete, even though the absence of sugar wont be present for the purpose of burning calories. Coke is not a good beverage for athletes; a much better drink would be gatorade.

Why would an athlete want to drink coke... how about a protein shake or water with and electrolyte powder mixed in, or plain water would be 100x better than coke.
